Loved the movie from start to finish, the acting, dancing, singing,
all excellent, never a dull moment. It was interesting to see these
actors show off their other talents and the musical numbers were
entertaining. The biggest surprise was Renee Zelleweger's ability
to sing, but Richard Gere's voice was a tad too nasaly for me. Catherine
Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah had the stand out performances, their
singing, dancing, and acting abilities were above par.
The cell block tango sequence was amazing, how they incorporated
the musical numbers with the dancing, and the red cloth signifying
the blood.
Grade: A |
Commentary by director Rob Marshall and screenwriter Bill Condon
Deleted musical number "Class"
Behind-the-scenes featurette
Widescreen anamorphic format
For such a highly acclaimed and well received movie, I thought
the DVD would be filled with special features. It did come with
an additional scene, a director's commentary, and a behind the scenes
documentary, but more indepth features would have made it complete.
I guess they figure since the movie is so popular, people will purchase
the DVD just for the movie and not worry about what kind of special
features are included. I would have liked a few actor's commentary
on the movie, more behind the scenes look at the making of the movie,
and more additional scenes. |
